The mission of the Center for Education Innovation (CEI) is to offer authentic, trans-formative solutions to urban under-performing schools, improving both the learning environment in the classroom and the outcomes of the students. This mission is accomplished through the provision of professional development and mentoring, coupled with teaching for understanding with the thoughtful integration of technology for individualized learning. Our work is currently focused on the Gateway City of New Bedford.
The Center for Education Innovation:
The Center for Education Innovation supports educators work with WIDE World programs, developed at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. The Center provides teachers with face-to-face support for the WIDE World online professional development courses about Teaching for Understanding and Teaching to Standards with New Technologies to help educators contextualize their online learning with the local curriculum and reform effort.
The Center for Education and Innovation helps elementary school teachers meet the individual needs of each of their students so that they perform to their potential. We teach teachers to apply individualized instruction using sophisticated assessments, practice systems and technology. We leave behind a supportive learning community of teachers who progress in a continuous culture of innovation.
